Somon Air has proudly received the renewal of the IOSA Certificate from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). For five days IATA auditors audited all Somon Air operational areas related to international safety and security standards. Somon Air undergoes this audit once every two years to receive this worldwide recognised certification.
In the Year of tourism developmentand folk crafts and in the frame of the routes development program, Somon Airhas launched a third frequency on the route of Dushanbe-Istanbul-Dushanbe. Starting from 20th of May, Somon Air will operate flights from Dushanbe to Istanbul three times a week - on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Starting from 18th of May, the departure time from Dushanbe is 5-30 am, from Istanbul to Dushanbe - 9-30 pm of local time.
To expand business, Somon Air has opened its official representative office in Istanbul. “The idea of opening a representative office was the result of a long period of time working with Turkey with the aim of abandoning remote cooperation, eliminating various intermediate procedures and optimizing the business process,” stated Somon Air, CEO, Thomas W. Hallam II. The representative office supports and protects the interests of the airline and the passengers at the airport. Somon Air cooperates with local executive authorities and other organizations to carry out flights, increase level of service for passengers while adhering to established rules and standards regulating aviation activity. In addition, the office will oversee airline ticket sales.
Currently Somon Air, an IATA member since 2017, successfully operates flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. The airline fleet consists of Boeing 737-300, -800 and -900 aircraft.
