With intent of developing and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of air transportation, Somon Air was the first in the history of civil aviation of independent Tajikistan to launch flights on the Dushanbe-Bukhara-Dushanbe route. The first flight took place on August 6. Not only passengers flew on board of the aircraft to visit beautiful Bukhara, but also leading personnel of Somon Air, historians and academics, a group of journalists.
First Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Somon Air Suhrob Juraev, noted: “As you know, the Founder of Piece and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon declared 2018 as the Year of Tourism Development and Folk Crafts. Supporting the initiative of the Head of State, we are expanding the geography of the airline’s flights and today we are proud to launch a flight to the ancient city of Bukhara. Opening a new page in the relations between the neighboring states of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, we hope that our flight will serve as a solid bridge for greater rapprochement between the two fraternal peoples”.
Upon arrival to Bukhara, the Somon Air delegation was received with special warm hospitality. The Boeing 737 aircraft was traditionally met by an arch triumph. Passengers of this flight were solemnly greeted by the official delegation of the city and the airport of Bukhara with the participation of local mass media. Further, for the delegation from Dushanbe an excursion around the beautiful Bukhara was arranged. Within its framework the guests were privileged to get acquainted with the historical and architectural monuments and other sights of the city.
Flights on the route Dushanbe-Bukhara-Dushanbe will be operated on Mondays. The flight time is 60 minutes.
In addition, Somon Air resumed flights on the direction of Dushanbe-Tashkent-Dushanbe. The flight time is 45 minutes. Flights are carried out on Fridays.
To date, Somon Air has successfully operated flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkey, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. In the fleet of the airline, there are Boeing 737-300, -800 and -900 aircrafts.
