Somon Air discussed potential cooperation with the British Embassy

On November 25, Somon Air management met with Zeenat Khanche, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in the Republic of Tajikistan. The discussion focused on UK-Tajikistan cooperation across a range of aviation issues of mutual interest, including a potential direct flight between Dushanbe and London, which would increase tourism between the countries - particularly if supported by simpler visa processes. In addition, Ms Khanche shared that British companies in the aviation sector are exploring opportunities to do business in Tajikistan, with the potential for support via UK Export Finance, such as the supply of Rolls-Royce engines to power the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
